Stratford Trashion week is designed to inspire and encourage change in the way we look at our own wardrobes and consumer habits while giving people the tools to make more sustainable fashion choices for a healthier world.

OPENING NIGHT GALA – THRIFT & VINTAGE FASHION SHOW

Dress to impress in your vintage best for the kick-off of Stratford Trashion Week at Revival House! Participate in the live art auction and bust a move on the dance floor to the sounds of DJ Edward Bear and Mista D. Enjoy complimentary hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar.

Doors open at 6:30 pm. Show starts at 7:30 pm. Tickets are $50 each or bring a group of 4 for the price of 3!

ECO ART SHOW

Location: York Lane Collective

This is a new event for 2019. Discover the collaboration of The York Lane Art Collective in this one of a kind show. Featuring found objects, used materials and environmental awareness. This a “pay what you can” event with LIVE MUSIC, CASH BAR, FREE SMILES.

Thank you for your interest in being part of York Lane Art Collective’s 1st ECO ART SHOW,  part of Stratford’s 2019 Trashion Week.

We are excited to provide an opportunity for creators to sell their work and experience the support arts community here in Stratford. There is no set fee to participate in this event, however we do have a fixed commission rate of 25% on any sales.
If you still need some time to finish your creative submissions, please don’t hesitate to submit your general ideas/photos. Submissions due by MARCH 27th.

Featuring found objects, used materials and environmental awareness, your creations are limitless! All submissions must follow one/all of these guidelines:

SUSTAINABLE STYLE

A Look-and-Learn Event with Resonance

This is a new event for 2019. Jo Gordon, owner of Resonance in Stratford, and her team will walk us through some designer eco-brands that are making huge strides to consider people and planet in their manufacturing. Brands to be featured: Eileen Fisher, FIG and more!
Tickets: $20 (includes a complimentary beverage, snacks and a swag bag)

TRASHION SHOW & PERTH POP-UP MARKET

NO TRASH TALKIN’ – JUST TRASH WALKIN’   This show elevates consumer consciousness while broadening the boundaries of fashion design! Creativity is taken to the next level with creations made of – what else – trash! Enjoy this one-of-a-kind fashion show. This is a family-friendly event – little fashionistas welcome! In partnership with Perth Pop-Up, enjoy the show and Eco Market. 

6:00 – 10:00 pm at Factory163
Admission: $2 each or $5/family

RIVER BLUE

Documentary Screening at Stratford City Hall

New for 2019, this year’s screening is of an educational documentary that gives us a behind-the-scenes look at the fashion industry and what you need to know about how your clothes are being made. Sponsored by Stratford’s Energy and Environment Committee. The screening will be followed by a panel discussion including Roger Williams, Executive Producer of River Blue, Kelly Drennan, Founder and Executive Director of Fashion Takes Action & Lindsay Telfer, Canadian Freshwater Alliance.

Show starts at 7:00pm. This documentary screening is a free event, but we ask you to please pre-register so we can adequately prepare for the number of attendees.

CLOTHING SWAP

At Factory163

Stratford Trashion Week’s annual Community Clothing Swap – a great way to shop without spending a dime! it’s a simple and fun way to keep textile waste out of the landfill fashionably!

How it works:
Drop your bag of clothing off at Covet Consignment, Green Hair Spa, LaOsa Jewelry and Vintage for a ticket to the event.

Please note, bags MUST be delivered to the stores in advance.

RE-FASHION SHOW & DESIGN COMPETITION

REDUCE. REUSE. RECYCLE. & STRUT. YOUR. STUFF.  Join us for a night of ReFashion wonder!!!! Participating designers are challenged to transform pre-loved garments into show-stopping, wearable works of art, which will be modeled at this show. TRIARCHY denim will be in attendance, sharing their sustainable fashion story.

7:00 pm – Midnight at Gallery Stratford
Tickets: $75 (includes one complimentary beverage and snacks by Food sponsor, Okazu as well as exciting live entertainment)

All proceeds from this event, go to Gallery Stratford.
